Kurt Kane, credited with the reinvention of the Doritos brand during his tenure at Frito-Lay, has been asked to help reinvigorate Wendy’s. The burger chain announced that Kane is taking the new title of Chief Concept Officer, responsible for North American marketing and innovation, effective May 4. He reports to President-CEO Emil Brolick.

Wendy’s CEO Emil Brolick says the chain is evolving its menu and marketing to ensure it appeals across generations. “The transformation of the Wendy’s brand is essential to strengthen our relevance with the boomer generation and to establish credible relevance with the Millennial generation,” he told analysts during the quarterly earnings conference call
Wendy’s celebrates spring by continuing its romance with nontraditional burger buns. Later this month it will introduce nationally a Tuscan Chicken on Ciabatta sandwich that it tested last year. Wendy’s favorite cheese, Asiago, is back for the Tuscan sandwich, where it will be coupled with spring mix, tomatoes and garlic aïoli.
